Last day in Port Douglas....oh sooo sad. We woke up and practically ran to 4-mile beach to float in the ocean one last time. Went to the shops one last time. Got a scoop of coconut ice cream at Wicked Ice Cream. Got in the car and set out for Cairns. Stopped at a few lookout points and kept doubling back to catch photos of signs we wanted to share with our stateside friends. Arrived at our next Airbnb and once again felt so fortunate to have made a solid choice. Visited the Botanical Gardens and the associated boardwalk. On the advice of our hosts, we ate at Pho Street and were so glad we did. Amazing food and a unique atmosphere. They don't call it Pho "Street" for no reason. Literally, the tables sit on the edge of the footpath. Cars and buses pull up alongside you and unload their passengers. There are more people wanting to eat there then there are tables so if you want a seat you sit wherever there is space available and get to know your neighbor. Dusk began to fall and we'd been given an address to see wild kangaroos so off we went in search of them. Hard to get a decent night photo, but they were so fun to watch. The group we saw were all about the size of a toddler. Tomorrow we'll spend a little more time in Cairns, maybe hit the beach and then it's back to Sydney.
