Williamsburg, Virginia - Day 7

Our last full day in Williamsburg was a lazy day. I got a haircut, we ate a light breakfast and made a run to Colonial Williamsburg to visit The Peanut Shop. Aaron had given us a jar of Dark Chocolate Covered Raisins and while we meant to save them we couldn’t seem to stop eating them. When we got there, they had samples. We discovered the goodness of Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Peanuts and noted that if you buy three you get the fourth free. Since we’re flying Spirit, we opted for the catalog instead. If you’re interested, you can visit online at www.thepeanutshop.com. Store Tip: Call your order into the store and save on shipping.
We had lunch at the Kephi Greek Kitchen and there really aren’t words to describe it. Kephi means “passion” and you can taste it in the food. We were speechless on so many levels. We’d never eaten at an authentic Greek restaurant before. The combinations of seasoning were exceptional. Our waiter was a 21-year-old young man from Turkey. He is working as a waiter learning English and plans to eventually work in another state to learn Spanish. He is studying to be a Marketing Engineer in his own country. He was so kind and displayed a great sense of humor. He had great recommendations and started us off with Saganaki, Flaming Kefalogriavera Cheese, as a hot appetizer. The chef came out and lit it up, very similar to Cherries Flambé. It tasted like a rich grilled cheese sandwich, without the bread. Alecia and I both ordered the Kephi Gyro🥙 with Tzatziki sauce and seasoned fries. Oh my gosh!!! They were sooooo good!!! We also got to sample Greek Fava with homemade bread and Moussaka. Then our waiter walked us over to the dessert case to share his favorite, Ekmek. All made from scratch by the owner's wife. We got some Baklava Cheesecake, Ekmek, and German Chocolate Cake. The owner's wife came out, and sent us home with her favorite, Galakto-Boureko, on the house. Nathalie explained this is very much the Greek way. A very giving and generous people.
Back to the condo, Aaron, Dan, and Nathalie got all packed up to head back home while the littles slept. We said our goodbyes and gave Niko and Athena hugs. We had so much fun with everyone and are so grateful and thankful they shared their vacation time with us.
